Best Service Pros members achieve a three-year contract

On January 28, 2020, the 15 Union members working at Best Service Pros in Lindsay secured a three-year agreement.

The Union Negotiating Committee secured wage increases of 40 cents per hour in each year of the agreement term. In addition, premiums for a number of shifts will improve. This includes $1 per hour for Lead Hand, 50 cents per hour for Night Shift, 50 cents per hour for Project Worker, and 50 cents per hour as well for Seasonal Employees.

Other monetary improvements include that required doctor’s notes will be paid for by the employer. The premiums for the employee’s health benefits will now be 70% employer-paid, up from 60%. Lastly, the Safety Shoe allowance improves to $125, up from $100.

Best Pro Services members ratifyMembers also benefit from the addition of an extra float day during the year. Improved bereavement language provides members with another day’s paid leave. Other language improvements address temporary vacancy postings, employer-provided uniforms in cold weather, and vacation pay out.
