Aramark members ratify a three-year agreement with wage and language improvements

Local 175 members employed by Aramark working at the Maxwell Meighen Centre for housing and homeless supports in Toronto, ratified a three-year agreement on July 12, 2023. Members will receive wages increase of $0.80/hour in each year of term.

Benefit improvements will see the company paid portion of the contribution increasing to 65% up from 60% and thereby reducing the members required contribution rate to 35%.

Language improvements include:

  • Bereavement leave increased to five days for immediate family and brother-in-law, sister-in-law will move to the list of immediate family members.
  • Overtime will be paid after 80 hours biweekly reduced from 88 hours.
  • Safety shoe reimbursement increase to $115 up from $100.
  • The probation period will be reduced from 6 months to 90 calendar days.
  • Gender neutral language will be reflected throughout the agreement.
  • New Letter of Understanding for a contribution to the training and education fund of $75 per year.
