The former Compass group members who are now employed by Aramark in the Woodstock Hospital, ratified a new four-year agreement on September 23, 2022 after a difficult set of bargaining with a new employer and the effects of COVID-19 on hospital workers.

Wage increases include: $0.50 per hour retroactive to September 1, 2021 for food service associate. For receiver $0.75 per hour retroactive to September 1, 2021. Introduction of a cook rate which will see a wage adjustment of $1.25 effective June 4, 2022. On June 4 2022 – food service associate and receiver – $0.50, June 4, 2023 – $0.50 across the board, June 4, 2024 – $0.50 across the board.

Other monetary and language improvements include a $20.00 increase in the clothing allowance for pants and $25.00 for shoes which will provide for a shoe allowance of $75.00.  Niece and nephew will be included in the bereavement language.  Members were happy to achieve language to ensure the employer must attempt to fill a vacancy where a scheduled employee calls in for any reason. This language will assist in avoiding members working short.

Union negotiating committee: Samantha Grimshaw and Courtney Walton. Union Representatives: Mike Mattioli and Nabeela Irfan.
