Alstom Transport Canada in Ottawa has a first collective agreement

After a year and a half and a difficult set of bargaining, the members at Alstom Transport Canada Inc. located in Ottawa have ratified their first collective agreement with a three year term on February 3, 2023.
The members will see wage increases of:
- Alstom employees: Year 1 – 4%, Year 2 – 1.5%, Year 3 – 2%
- Randstad employees (10 Agency becoming FT with Alstom): Year -1 up to $6.46, Year 2 – 1.5%, Year 3 – 2%
- Randstad employees (Agency now paying dues): Year 1 – 90% of Full-Time wages, Year 2 – 1.5%, Year 3 – 2%
- Retention Bonus (Alstom only): 2022 – $500.00, 2021 $1000.00, 2020 $1300.00, pre 2020 -$1600.00
Alstom agrees to post ten Full-time positions within ten days of the ratification of the agreement and also agrees to award these ten positions to the ten most senior Randstad employees. The employer also agrees to review new Alstom positions every contract year and hire new Randstad employees as per the language in the new CBA. These 10 most senior Randstad employees hired by Alstom will be entitled to the company pension plan and benefits.
Language improvements include a boot allowance of $225, Overnight shift premium of $1.50 and Lead Hand premium of $2.00.
