Fifty-five full and part-time employees at AIM Health Group achieved a new three-year agreement on May 6, 2018.

Contract language reclassifies Receptionists to Medical Office Assistants. This includes a large salary bump of between $2 and $3.50 per hour plus an annual increase of 2%. Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) receive a 2.5% increase to their salary in each year.

The Union Negotiating Committee achieved an extra float day, as well as additional personal days each year – one for full-time and one for part-time. In addition, members benefit from improved reimbursement of 90%, up from 70%, for drug and dental expenses.

Language improvements address shift cancellation. The contract contains policies for how/when the employer may cancel a shift, plus what pay a worker may be entitled to in a given situation.

The members work in nine locations across Ontario including: Brampton, Hamilton, London, Mississauga, Oakville, Oshawa, Ottawa, Scarborough, and Toronto.

Union Negotiating Committee: Melissa Beniot, Galina Bromberg-Roy, Georgina Lucus, and Union Rep Melody Slattery.
