Nursing Home members at Friendly Manor ratify wage increases and adjustments
The members at Friendly Manor in Deseronto ratified a new collective agreement on May 31, 2023. Wages will increase effective January 1, 2023 – 3% general wage increase, January 1, 2024 – 3.25% general wage increase. There will be an RPN top up of $1.00 after the general wage increase effective January 1, 2023, and another $1.00 after the general wage increase effective January 1, 2024.
There will be a one-time top up of $.25 after the general wage increase, effective January 1, 2024 for the following classifications: General Aid, Cook, Maintenance and Life Enrichment. The $3.00 wage enhancement for PSWs will be included in the wage grid after both general wage increases are implemented. In Charge pay will increase in from $10 to $15 per shift.
The Dental Plan contribution will increase from $.38 to $.40 hour on January 1, 2024.
Online courses – All time and training courses done online are considered as time worked and therefore time spent to such activities shall be paid accordingly and scheduled in the home during working hours.
Medication Count /Reporting – Any time work in excess of the scheduled hours, which include time spent for med count or reporting will be paid at straight time to the person who must come in 15 minutes early or stay 15 minutes late to complete the med count or reporting.
