Submissions to WSIB

August 15, 2017 at 12:11pm

Workers Comp Claims & Appeals: Submissions to the WSIBInformation adopted from the Ontario Worker Adviser (OWA) website. Used with permission.

When using the aid of the Workers’ Compensation Department, your Representatives will prepare all forms, submissions, and hearing notes. However, the following are some brief details of how the appeals process – written and oral hearings – are conducted and what you can expect.

Submissions are either oral (spoken) or written statements presented to the decision-maker for consideration. The submissions are the arguments that support your case. Submissions are a chance to convince the decision-maker to give you the benefits that you believe you’re entitled to, according to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997 and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) policy.

Written Submissions

Your Workers’ Compensation Representative will consult with you on the details of your claim. After an interview, they will take the responsibility of writing and preparing your submissions on your behalf.
