New contract for benefit administration workers
Local 175 members working at the Graphic Communications Benefits Administration Corporation met on May 24, 2012 to vote on the terms negotiated for their new contract.
The ratification of the three-year deal brings wage increases of 3 per cent in the first year, and 2 per cent in both the second and third years of the contract term. Workers also benefit from increased employer contributions to the pension plan of $48 per week, up from $46.
Vision care coverage increases to $350 for employees, and $250 for dependents, per 24-month period. In addition, eye exam coverage improves to $100 per 24-month period for both employees and eligible dependents.
Workers with 25 years of service or more receive up to 30 paid vacation days per year.
