Back for another year! The Annual Catch for a Cure was held on Sunday, July 10 at Colchester Harbour in Essex County. Over 200 people came out for a day of fishing and fun. This year’s location had something for everyone, including a playground for kids, a sandy beach and of course, a large dock for hours of fishing. Competition for the biggest catch was fierce, as everyone seemed to be catching big fish. No one left empty-handed. Everyone who registered received a door prize and the first 30 kids took home an extra gift bag. The busy morning of fishing was capped off by a mouth-watering BBQ. All proceeds went to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. The event raised an impressive $1,600. “This event gets bigger and bigger every year,” says Shawn Haggerty, Local 175 President. “It’s a fun way to raise money for a great cause.”
