Cargill members raise $1,000
Cargill (Watson) workers came out to two barbecues on August 31, 2010, to help raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Through the purchase of burgers, donated by Cargill, pop and cookies and the sale of raffle tickets for great prizes, the members and other staff of the Guelph facility raised $1,000.
“Thanks to everyone who came out to support the fundraising,” said Union Rep Kevin Dowling who was on hand for the first barbecue from 11 – 1. Union Reps Roy Reed and Angus Locke, Director Paul Jokhu and plant Union Stewards helped out serving burgers and selling raffle tickets.
