Health & Safety

The health and safety of every Locals 175 & 633 member is an important part of your Union's mission. Courses on various workplace and sector-specific issues, as well as general Health & Safety and WHMIS training, are an integral part of the Locals 175 & 633 dedication to education.

In this section you will find information about your rights under the law as an Ontario worker. Every worker in this province has the Right to Refuse Unsafe Work. Some workers, such as health care providers and emergency services personnel, for example, have a limited right - click here for details.

In addition, everyone has the right to perform his/her job in a harassment and discrimination-free work environment.

In your collective agreement, Locals 175 & 633 also negotiates policy for the creation and responsibilities of workplace health and safety committees and other language to help you stay safe at work.
